The Big Bend region is considered to many as a paradise. To geologists, Big Bend is also considered such a paradise. Although the earth is believed to be 4.6 billion years old, the oldest dating in the Big Bend dates back to only 500 million years ago. These rocks are located in the Persimmion Gap area of Big Bend National Park.
