Joe & Tree Brunelle
The story of Joe & Tree simply comes down to love at first listen. Theresa heard Joseph's debut release Round To It, and knew she needed to see him live. A friendship developed and soon they were trading songs and harmonies. The blend was instant and natural. They married and have spent the last fourteen years in perpetual motion, writing, recording, and touring. As a duo, and with their back No Strangers, the have released five albums. Sharing stages with the likes of Bruce Hornsby, Guy Clark, David Wilcox, and Steve Earle, they have continued to grow and evolve as artists and performers. After a year or two stay in Nashville the duo is once again making their home in the Hill Country near Austin, Texas. Whether they're in a crowded room at the South By SouthWest festival in Austin or the quiet of the BlueBird Cafe in Nashville, award-winning songwriters Joe & Tree consistently deliver a show that is both intense and friendly, musically polished but still human and accessible.
What people have to say about Joe & Tree: "The coolest vocal blend since the Everly Brothers." Tom Kimmel "The have that 6th sense performing couples develop. Harmonies and phrasing interweave, dance -like." Crow Johnson "A Blend of groove and harmony that's as good as it gets." Michael Lilli "Great grooves, great traveling music! Joseph writes wonderful songs and Theresa has the voice of an angel." Betty Elders "Combining lissome harmonies, vividly rendered and finely-honed material, and first rate musicianship, the Brunelles have crafted a sound that is both distinctively original and hauntingly evocative." John T. Davis "The feel of their songs is unquestionably authentic and brimming with clear focus. I find their exploration of the hard sides of love particularly brave and powerful and a nice complement to other songs in their repertoire that shimmer with gratitude and contentment." Larry Lesser, Austin Songwriters Group "Theresa's vocals absolutely glow in the dark." John Conquest, Music City News
